In order to achieve stable machining accuracy anywhere in the work envelope, perfect flatness, squareness and straightness are required for all surfaces and axes.
DIXI Machines conducts 500 hours of scraping by skilled technicians on every machine to achieve the required accuracy.

Most machine tool manufacturers use an autocollimator with a 200 mm square measuring block, but DIXI Machines uses a 100 mm square block. Making the block smaller allows more precise measurement of the unevenness of the surface, because the contact area between the block and the scraped surface is small.

This shows the load on the mounting surfaces when the slider is moving.

To achieve high volumetric accuracy, extremely good flatness is required. This is because the combination of the flatness of the bed and slider determines the volumetric accuracy.
Before scraping, when the flatness is poor, the sliders are unbalanced because of the load.
We do scraping to equalize the load on these 4 sliders, which dramatically improves the flatness.
