In order
to build the best partnership with customers and resolve all issues, we
have provided "laboratory," "support center," "supplier" and "showroom" functions at the Akishino Mold Laboratory. The initial letters of these functions give us the concept for this facility: "L +3S". Here we will introduce these four functions.
1. A laboratory for customers
As its name suggests, the Akishino Mold Laboratory functions
as a die and mold machining research facility. Where it differs from other manufacturers or corporate research facilities is
that the machining technology and other information are made available to the public. As well as conducting research aimed
at improving the performance of machine tools, we intend
to build and offer technology that is useful to customers,
including design technology, machining techniques and peripheral equipment.
2. A support center for customers
In the fiercely competitive die & mold machining field,
how do we resolve issues that customers are concerned about
and make useful proposals?
This is the mission
of the Akishino Mold Laboratory.
While putting our best efforts into solving problems such as completing machining
without polishing or electric discharge machining, reducing cycle time, achieving
high quality and reducing costs, we can also carry out all kinds of tests by
making use of a wide range of equipment. Because the Laboratory is equipped
with 5-axis control machining centers and multi-axis turning centers, we can
also easily handle assessments such as the influence of process integration
by machining a workpiece that is handled in daily operation using
a multi-axis
machine. Feel free to consult us about your needs.
3. A supplier for customers
One important role of the Akishino Mold Laboratory is that of supplier (manufacturer) to customers. We support your production through commissioned manufacture of dies and molds in any of the processes from design to machining to finishing. The Laboratory is comprehensively equipped with both hardware and software. We have all the major CAM software packages available, so that we can deal with any kind of data.
We have installed thirteen Mori Seiki machine tools, including machining centers for die and mold machining. There are also wire electric discharge machines, diesinking electric discharge machines, surface grinding machines, injection molding machines and coordinate measuring machines, ensuring an unbeatable production capability.
4. A showroom for customers
These are the latest machine tools, CAD/CAM systems, tools and peripheral
devices. Not many companies have all this. The Akishino Mold Laboratory has
been able to draw on the strength of having a general machine tool manufacturer
as the parent organization by making its own factory a state-of-the-art practical
showroom. By all means tour the facility if you have the opportunity.
