NEW April 23, 2008 The Integrated Mill Turn Center NT Series for long/large-diameter workpieces has arrived On April 23, Mori Seiki will start accepting orders for NT6600 DCG, the high-precision and high-efficiency integrated Mill Turn Center for long/large-diameter workpieces.
  March 11, 2008 Announcing the long-awaited large model in the NMV Series, which takes high-precision machining and ease of use to the ultimate. Mori Seiki Co., Ltd. will start accepting orders for the NMV8000 DCG high-precision, 5-axis control vertical machining center, the ideal model for machining large, complex-shaped workpieces, from March 11, 2008.
  January 22, 2008 MAPPS III High-Performance Operating System Goes Even More Global Screen Displays are Now Available for BRICs and Central Europe Mori Seiki Co., Ltd.'s MAPPS III high-performance operating system screen display is now available in 5 more languages (Russian, Polish, Czech, Hungarian, Slovenian). We will start accepting orders for machines with this function from February 1.

  December 19, 2007 The DuraTurn CNC Lathe is Equipped with a Built-in Motor Turret for High-Efficiency Milling Mori Seiki have added a milling function to our DuraTurn Series of CNC lathes by installing a BMT (Built-in Motor Turret). From December 19, 2007 we started accepting orders for our new models, the DuraTurn 2050MC and the DuraTurn 2550MC.

  November 22, 2007 MORI SEIKI is planning to take over SANDVIK Tobler SAS Mori Seiki Co.Ltd, Nagoya, Japan and the company Sandvik has reached an agreement to take over the business of Sandvik Tobler SAS, France, which is a part of the Sandvik Tooling business area.
  November 16, 2007 Dr. Mori is Elected a Fellow of the SME The President of Mori Seiki Co., Ltd., Dr. Masahiko Mori, was recently elected a Fellow of the Society of
Manufacturing Engineers (SME), an international research institution for production technology based in
Michigan in the United States. The inauguration ceremony took place on November 12 in Chicago.

  October 31, 2007 Imports Fixture Models Easily from IMAO CAD/CAF Fixture Design Support System to MAPPSIII! Mori Seiki and Imao Corporation Jointly Develop a New System. Mori Seiki Co., Ltd. and Imao Corporation have jointly developed a system which allows 3D models of fixtures generated by the IMAO CAD/CAF fixture model support system to be imported into MAPPSIII and used for the 3D interference checking function.
  October 31, 2007 Mori Seiki and Lord Collaborate on Technical Development of the Adaptive Balancer Mori Seiki Co., Ltd. has combined with the American company Lord Corporation to develop our Adaptive Balancer technology, which automatically adjusts for the vibration caused by the rotation of eccentric workpieces.

  October 29, 2007 DIXI Grand Opening Mori Seiki Co., Ltd. held the Grand Opening ceremony for DIXI Machines in Le Locle at 2:00 p.m. on October 23 (local time) with about 150 guests, including Mr. Abe, the Japanese Ambassador to Switzerland, Mr. De la Reusille, the Mayor of Le Locle, and Mr. Soguel, the Economy Minister for Neuchatel.

  May 24, 2007 Establishment of Akishino Mold Laboratory, Ltd. Mori Seiki has recently established the Akishino Mold Laboratory in the City of Yamatokoriyama, Nara Prefecture.Akishino Mold Laboratory as a mold plant for Mori Seiki’s customers, will make information and know-how regarding CAM, tools, peripheral equipment, machining methods available to the public. We hope that die and mold manufacturers will use Akishino as their laboratory.

On November 1, 2006, Mori Seiki's NL Series, which was released in June 2004 and which features the only Turret with a built-in motor in the industry, passed 5000 units shipped.

  August 2, 2006 Development of a New Thermal Displacement Control Function Which Suppresses Displacement Caused by Changes in Ambient Temperature to Within 5 - 8 μm Mori Seiki Co., Ltd. has successfully completed the development of a new thermal displacement control function. The function has been installed in an NL Series CNC lathe and we have started practical tests on it.

  September 1, 2004 Licensing Arrangements for Patents Related to Low-noise Ball Screws between NSK and Mori Seiki With the goal of expanding the low-noise ball screw market and promoting noise reduction and increased speed in machine tools, an agreement has been reached between NSK Ltd. and Mori Seiki Co., Ltd. whereby NSK shall license patents and other specified items related to low-noise ball screws to Mori Seiki, and in addition provide technical support.
