This year's theme is "THINK BIG"
Under the theme of "THINK BIG," Mori Seiki provided customers with useful proposals to increase their productivity, by utilizing its three "BIG" strengths: Big Ideas, Big Machines and Big Solutions. Our booth was always filled with visitors throughout the event, and we received many inquiries about our products. Our workshop on "Machining of difficult-to-cut materials" was also a great success, with more attendance than we expected.
A variety of products to meet market needs
As this year's theme suggests, we exhibited machines focusing on large models. Customers in the aircraft, energy and construction machinery sectors were particularly interested in the NT6600 DCG/4000BS high-precision, high-efficiency integrated mill turn center for long/large-diameter workpieces; the NMV8000 DCG/50 high-precision 5-axis control vertical machining center for high-efficiency and high-quality machining of large, complex-shaped workpieces; and the NH8000 DCG II high-precision horizontal machining center with the highest speed in its class, which achieved both space savings and a large work envelope. One of the customers who showed great interest in these machines said, "I realized it's only Mori Seiki that can achieve high-efficiency, high-precision machining for large workpieces like this" and "Mori Seiki's large machines have more versatility than those of other manufacturers and it is easy to make a selection to suit our purpose." The pre-release display of the NN1000 DCG super-high-precision 5-axis control machining center that realizes micro machining at the nanometer level also attracted a lot attention from customers in the medical equipment, aerospace and communications fields.
Mori Seiki will continue to develop products that enable micro machining as well as high-efficiency machining of large workpieces demanded by the market.
The state-of-the-art technologies and other services on display
We also displayed the state-of-the-art machining technologies and peripheral equipment which are useful for manufacturing along with machine tools, and introduced our support services. Many customers were interested in the ZeroChip that sucks and isolates a large amount of harmful dust generated during machining of CFRP (Carbon Fiber Reinforced Plastic) which is commonly used for aircraft parts, and the DDRT-260 rotary table which achieves process integration by high-speed, high-precision indexing. Also, we demonstrated the online education system, "Education-On-Demand (EOD)," which allows users to learn the operation of machines through the Internet. Customers who experienced the demonstration said that it was very easy to understand, even for beginners and they would definitely like to use it in training staff.
We are confident that customers who visited the Mori Seiki booth at JIMTOF2008 were all satisfied with our wide range of products and support services. We will continuously develop new products and expand our services based on comments from customers. Thank you again to everyone who attended.
