MAPPS   Application System & NC System
MAPPS III for Machining Center
A new high-performance operating system

Dramatically improved graphics ability, instinctive operability. Programming time and setup time were reduced by a series of improved specifications and strengthened functions. This is the MAPPS Series, the fruition of our thorough focus on the operator and our cutting-edge technology. This is the new world standard for NC units.

Features
  • Improved hardware specs
  • Massive data storage and speed that will reduce your stress level.
MAPPS III has hardware specs fitting for a next-generation NC unit.

  • Greater reliability
  • Uses a system which is highly reliable, even in harsh environments.

  • Improved operability
  • Our goal was to create an interface with maximum ease-of-use for the operator in all areas - display, pointing device, keyboard, and more.

  • Faster creation of programs
  • Enhancing the various programming functions has made it possible to cut overall program creation time by over 30%.

  • Faster setup
  • New setup functions have been added. These functions reduce the time needed for preparations as well as help prevent mistakes during setup.

  • Minimizing machine down time
  • The ability to manage regular maintenance and inspection from the operating panel means less machine down time.

3D cutting simulation Time study

It makes checking machining shapes
and tool paths simple.

  • Zooming and rotation are available during simulations and tool trajectories can be displayed.
  • Simulations of manually created G code programs, and not just programs entered using the conversational function, are also possible (including sub-programs).

After the 3D cutting simulation is performed, the estimated cycle times are displayed.

Conversational direct operation function and conversational direct drawing function

Conversational data entered based on the drawings can be used to perform a drawing check (direct drawing) and to carry out direct operation, all without creating an NC program.

Advantages

  • Does not require NC memory (program storage capacity).
  • After entry of the conversational data, the data can immediately be used for operation, reducing the setup time.
  • Because NC text conversion is not required, this function is ideal for single workpieces where shorter setup times are particularly important.

High-speed canned cycle (option : MSX]500 Series, MSX]700 Series)
The screen guidance helps the operator enter arguments for canned cycles. A single-line program can suffice to provide instructions for high-speed cutting.

Number of patterns: 16

High-speed machining for shorter machining times

  • In addition to the functions from the SEICOS SHG1 control, a new cycle has been added that simplifies the complex programming required for high-speed machining.

Shorter programming time

  • Automatic generation of the optimal tool paths for high-speed machining
  • Support for troublesome program formats
  • Menu-driven operation that does not require a manual
High speed side milling cycle

High feedrate cutting with small side load and deep depth

Z Feeding groove cycle

10 times faster than regular cutting condition

Square pocket cycle

End mill efficiently machines square pocket shapes@or track shapes

Corner pocket cycle

High speed corner cutting after square pocket cycle

Trochoid cycle

Machining a groove, circular groove, wide width groove, with an end mill moving in a circular motion

Helical hole cycle

Can make a tapered hole even threading

Tool management function (option : MSX]500 Series, MSX]700 Series)

Information on various tools can be managed comprehensively, to support efficient programming and machining plans. By combining with other application systems, it also allows more effective tool management, both for stand-alone machines and systems.

Tool data list Tool data details

It displays a list of the data for the tools mounted in the magazine. Offset values, tool life values etc can be checked on a single screen.

Detailed data about the spindle speed, feedrate etc for each tool can be entered and displayed.

The Tool Management System

MCC-TMS is compatible with tool ID systems which use IC chips. It can also be connected to a Linear Pallet Pool system. Tools can be centrally managed from a PC, which prevents interruptions to machining caused by missing or worn out tools, and supports continuous, long-term system operation. (Option)

Network
An Internet Machine Monitoring Service

Mori Seiki's MORI-NET Global Edition is a support service using communication terminals and the Internet. The Mori Seiki can keep an eye on all your machines, simply by connecting your machines to our network.

System for Data Management

Program management

Data input and output is even easier with a network.

High-speed data I/O

From the machine or from a computer.
You can input and output all types of data rapidly over the company LAN.
