MAPPS   Application System & NC System
MAPPS III for Integrated Mill Turn Centers
A new high-performance operating system

Dramatically improved graphics ability, instinctive operability. Programming time and setup time were reduced by a series of improved specifications and strengthened functions. This is the MAPPS Series, the fruition of our thorough focus on the operator and our cutting-edge technology. This is the new world standard for NC units.

Features
  • Improved hardware specs
  • assive data storage and speed that will reduce your stress level.
MAPPS III has hardware specs fitting for a next-generation NC unit.

  • Greater reliability
  • Uses a system which is highly reliable, even in harsh environments.

  • Improved operability
  • Our goal was to create an interface with maximum ease-of-use for the operator in all areas - display, pointing device, keyboard, and more.

  • Faster creation of programs
  • Enhancing the various programming functions has made it possible to cut overall program creation time by over 30%.

  • Faster setup
  • New setup functions have been added. These functions reduce the time needed for preparations as well as help prevent mistakes during setup.

  • Minimizing machine down time
  • The ability to manage regular maintenance and inspection from the operating panel means less machine down time.

Functions
Greater data storage thanks to incorporation of memory in the user area. Smoother operation due to improved CPU performance. Higher performance is possible thanks to a one-generation improvement in specs.
Compared against previous model
Simulation time: Reduced by 22%
NC program creation time: 2.9 times faster
Card DNC Transfer Rate: Approx. 2 times faster

Total setup time: Approx. 66% shorter

Functions for multi-axis machining

MAPPS III is packed with functions which offer total support and peace of mind for programming of multi-axis machining.

Conversational automatic programming
Programming has been greatly simplified as data input required has been minimized, even for machining of complex shapes.
Y-axis machining
Y-axis machining is conversationally programmable, too, and with simulation of all programmed jobs.

2 turrets machining (balanced cutting)
By synchronizing tool movement, we raised the amount of feed.
By delaying the position where the cutting begins, we doubled the amount of material cut.

Rear side turning

Rear side turning on the second spindle can be conversationally programmed as well, with full simulation of the planned finished workpiece.

3D interference checking function

With multi-axis machining, even minor operating errors can cause collisions in the machine.
You can check for interference in 3-D and in real time for the spindle, workpiece, soft jaws, tools, holders, turrets, etc.

Interference check function

Since it checks for interference in both automatic and manual modes,
you will have peace of mind from setup right through to program operation.
Installation of model data

Model data for machines and standard tools are already installed as standard.

High-speed canned cycle (Option)
The screen guidance helps the operator enter arguments for canned cycles. A single-line program can suffice to provide instructions for high-speed cutting.

Number of patterns: 21

High-speed machining for shorter machining times

  • In addition to the functions from the SEICOS SHG1 control, a new cycle has been added that simplifies the complex programming required for high-speed machining.

Shorter programming time

  • Automatic generation of the optimal tool paths for high-speed machining
  • Support for troublesome program formats
  • Menu-driven operation that does not require a manual

Z Feeding groove cycle

10 times faster than regular cutting condition

Trochoid cycle

Machining a groove, circular groove, wide width groove, with an end mill moving in a circular motion

Corner pocket cycle

Network
An Internet Machine Monitoring Service

Mori Seiki's MORI-NET Global Edition is a support service using communication terminals and the Internet. The Mori Seiki can keep an eye on all your machines, simply by connecting your machines to our network.

System for Data Management

Program management

Data input and output is even easier with a network.

High-speed data I/O

From the machine or from a computer.
You can input and output all types of data rapidly over the company LAN.
